Especially ideal for those with CVA, TBI, Brachial Plexus injury, and ALS, the GivMohr has been designed for the reduction of subluxation in sitting and standing, while relieving shoulder pain. The GivMohr Sling was developed in a collaborative effort between Victoria Givler, OTR and Paul Mohr, PT in response to the lack of appropriate support devices available to those in need. Easy to use with a universal fit, the GivMohr is designed for retraction and depression of the scapula while supporting the head of the Humerus in Glenoid to facilitate more symmetrical stride length to allow proper arm swing during ambulation. To insure a proper fit: It is recommended that the initial fitting is done by a certified PT or OT. A comfortable and proper fit should follow all of the following: 1. 4-tab is centered over spine and low between scapula 2. Hand piece accommodates contour of hand 3. Wrist cross is centered over wrist (adjust using Velcro in hand grip) 4. Wrist is 0-30° in extension 5. Elbow is in 30° or less of flexion 6. Elbow strap is positioned horizontally 1 below elbow 7.
